tmm was already hard to find/get several years ago, because the show had been licensed (but you should be able to buy DVDs). Also, it's not like honobono subbed every episode of tmm. iirc the first 10 or 20 eps were done by a different team.
After Megaupload was closed, Fileserve has decided to prevent filesharing by giving access only to the files in your own account, thus you can only download files you uploaded yourself.
As mentioned earlier here, there are others, who are not part of this group, that upload our releases to filehosts shortly after we released them via torrent. These uploads are usually easy to find with google. Due to rather limited upload capabilities we'll continue to focus on the torrent releases.
The files can also be accessed here: #honobono@Aniverse.com.
2012 is a new year and Honobono is looking for your help. Obviously, we just finished Fushigiboshi no Futagohime (YAY!), but we still have Hime-chan's Ribbon and Goldfish Warning! to work on. And our releases of those projects have been pretty slow as of late. Plus, there's Fushigiboshi no Futagohime Gyu! to think about. Basically, we need some more staff to help out.
We can use help in any and all areas, based on what you can and are willing to help with. A description of each position is provided below. Please only apply if you have time available and are serious about helping out. While not required, access and use of IRC makes working with the other staff much easier and more convenient depending on the position you're interested in.
Translator: Translate the Japanese audio into an English script. The translation should try to be as literal/true to the original Japanese as possible. The script doesn't have to read as perfect English, as long as the meaning of each line is clear for an editor.
Editor: Take the translated script and fix any typos. Also, make sure the script flows well in English. Try to keep the English translation as close to the original Japanese meaning without sacrificing the readability of the lines. Create notes to explain cultural aspects where necessary.
Timer: It sounds redundant, but time the script. This person sets when each line of the script will appear and disappear on the video.
Typesetter: This person styles the fonts. This includes adding color and borders to the lines. It may also include designing the karaoke, styling the appearance of notes, and making the English translation to look like the on screen Japanese text.
Encoder: Creates the various release candidates(RC). This person is responsible for taking the edited, timed, and typeset script and encoding it onto the video. This tends to require decent computer processing power. Knowledge of audio and video filters is important.
Quality-Checkers(QCers):** These staff members watch each release candidate checking for video, audio, and script errors. These include, but aren't limited to; typos, rewording of lines, timing errors, broken pixels/frames, audio drops, background noise. This position does usually require watching each episode 2-4 times, depending on how many release candidates are encoded. Once the QC staff give the okay that the release candidate looks good, the episode is then released.
Contact me here, or any of the ops on #honobono@Aniverse.com, if you're interested. Thanks! :)
You could also search for a direct download on a well known search engine and look around on some of those streaming sites that manage to have our releases on stream shortly (1~2h) after we released them. I refuse to name that pages since I don't like their way of taking donations for "their heroic" effort to down- and upload other people's work, but you can find direct dls for at least the latter half of our releases.
I heard a rumour that you guys may have subbed the 2nd season of this but not put up torrents, I am here to verify if this rumour is true or not because currently only episodes 1-12 are available on Animesuki.
That may be the case, but we don't sub the shows to post them on video streaming sites like veoh. In a sense, we're "re-doing" Hime-chan's sub because when the group that originally subbed the show, Tomodachi, released the episodes, the only source of video they had was VHS. But now DVD sources are available, and we've them. The video quality of the DVD source is MUCH better than the VHS video quality.
So it's much like groups releasing currently airing shows with TV sources and then going back later and redoing the releases using the DVD sources. The goal was to give people the opportunity to download and watch the show with better video quality, in the hope that it would help them enjoy the show more. This concept is a bit lost when the videos are uploaded to sites like Veoh and crunchyroll because they limit the quality to save bandwidth or space (Note: I don't use the sites so I'm not well-versed in why they downsize and limit the quality of the episodes), so it seems like a futile task. But it's not for those people that choose to directly download our releases to their computers. :)
It's a matter as to which of our staff is busy with real life or not. Editing was delayed on futagohime because the editor was on foreign exchange and didn't have much free time to work on fansubs. Now, the next releases are in Quality Check (QC) stage. So now the releases become dependent on if the QC staff and the encoder have time to work. We try to do it so that if an episode gets stuck at one stage, we work on the next episodes while the people earlier in the fansub process have free time. Ideally, it should limit the delay of releases but that's not always the case. ^^;
So the simple answer? The QCers working on FH39 and GFW29 have been busy with real life, so they haven't been able to work on the episodes. But, the rest of the staff has been relatively free so they've began working on the episodes following those in the hope that once the QCers have free time, we'll be able to put them to work and get multiple releases out in a shorter period of time. :D
Usagi had been having a fairly decent day up until now. She had woken up for school on time, successfully snuck off at lunchtime to eat with her boyfriend, and was just getting ready to go home for a nap when a young pink-haired girl with a hair-style similar to her own landed on her head.
This strange, pink-haired girl was none other than Usagi's future daughter, Usagi 'Small Lady' Serenity, known in Tokyo as Chibi-Usa. Climbing down from her mother's head, she whispered "I'll explain later." As she ran 'homeward', she said "See you later, Usa-'neechan!"
Usagi blinked confusedly. "Since when does she call me onee-chan?"
Ikuko was happy to see her younger 'daughter' again. The official story was that she had been in Europe as a foreign exchange student, and had been living with Minako's 'Uncle', Bob Robertson. It wasn't entirely a lie on Chibi-Usa's part, as this was perfectly true from her own time-perspective. That is to say, it would have been true had it been said a thousand years later from Ikuko's perspective.
That evening, Chibi-Usa, Luna and Usagi were talking in their shared bedroom. None of them knew that Shingo had taken up listening at doors.
"I actually came back to talk to Puu." began Chibi-Usa. "Pluto told me that things weren't moving fast enough for her liking. She also said something about the Black Poison Crystal, but I didn't hear her properly because of the door of time."
Luna twitched visibly at the mention of the Black Poison Crystal. "I thought it was destroyed for good when we defeated Wiseman."
Chibi-Usa shook her head. "Yes and no. It was destroyed from our shared time-perspective. The problem was that we destroyed it before it really began existing from this time-perspective." She took a sip of milk. "And it's because of that that we may have a problem. Pluto said that its first target is some place called Youma's Forest or something."
Usagi shuddered and started to whine. "Why is it that even when there's peace, there's trouble?"
Luna and Chibi-Usa sighed, and prepared themselves for the glass-breaking cry that Usagi was famous for. It never came. When they opened their eyes, Usagi had her communicator out and was trying to contact Ami.
"So what kind of game is this, again?"
The Kazetachi people - that is to say, Himeko, Daichi, Poomo, Sei, Robelia, Kamilu, Kanro, Hibino, Mercury, and Tin Nyanko - were all sitting in the park across from the Abandoned House, discussing the 'game' that Kanro was making.
"It's called Th' Elsa Alliance. I'd been workin' on it fer a few-"
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! Mercury's computer started beeping.
"Hai, hai, Ami here. Usagi!? What's the matter?" All eyes were on Mercury.
"I see. Roger!" She closed the palmtop. "I'm sorry, but I have to sit this one out. It was a pleasure to meet you all, and I'm sorry for attacking you like that, Nonohara-san. Tin Nyanko, go get Pluto, we've got a forest to search for."
The two sailor senshi jumped off into the distance. Everyone was confused greatly.
Kanro coughed and resumed talking. "Like I said, I'd been workin' on it fer a few months now..."
"Your Highness, it is an honor to see you again."
Sailor Pluto bowed deeply towards her former student. Erika had taken Setsuna to the Magic Kingdom palace to meet with the King and Queen of the Magic Kingdom.
"Papa, Sailor Pluto here says that Rhea... excuse me, Tomoe Hotaru, who is Sailor Saturn, is awake and active on the Earth." Erika shuddered as she said this. "However, she says that we have no reason to seal off the Magic Kingdom at present."
The King looked at Pluto intently. "Is this true, Amora? Is Saturn truly being kept on active duty?"
Pluto nodded. The King looked at his wife with a sad look in his face. Pluto sighed, and said "She had been awoken about a year ago by Earth's reckoning in part of an attack from a Tau System. We succeeded in keeping her from annihilating the Earth, and she has been helping us repel invasions for the past year. Please do not be alarmed, I have been keeping a close watch on her. She is quite pleasant to talk to, and has a friend who will not be born if the Earth is destroyed."
The Queen shook her head. "A Time-Traveler?"
Pluto nodded. "Serenity's future daughter."
A moment of awkward silence passed. Suddenly, the King, the Queen, and Pluto all thought of something horrible at the same time. "There's nobody guarding the Door!" they whispered in a horrified unison.
There was a loud Sneeze behind her.
Old Woman Erica pulled herself away from the closet door long enough to see that the house was almost clean, even for having had the Twin Princesses Fine and Rein here to 'help.' She frowned. If the house is genuinely clean, then there's no money in the fortune-tell. She dove back into the closet. "Where's that mirror!?"
Fine and Rein asked together "What mirror?"
"The mirror that Riley gave me so that we could stay in contact! I had put it in this closet before we started cleaning! Without it, there's no connection to the Mahou no Kuni!"
Shade coughed and closed the closet door. Mounted on the outside was a large mirror, embossed with the western letters "H.R."
Pokota climbed onto Sophie's shoulders to get a better look. "That was made in the Magic Kingdom! Erica-obaba, we found it!"
Everyone looked around. "Erica-obaba?"
There was an explosion of noise coming from the closet. "LET ME OUT OF HERE!"
Pluto walked out of the Abandoned House just as Tin Nyanko got there. Before Pluto could object, Tin Nyanko grabbed her and started running towards where Mercury was. "We need to find a place called the Youma's Forest."
Pluto blinked confusedly. "The Youma's Forest? Not the Youmaga's Forest?"
Tin Nyanko shrugged. "Mercury said that Usagi said that Chibi-Usa said-"
Pluto tried to stop, but Tin Nyanko dragged her along without noticing. "Chibi-Usa-chan's HERE?"
"Technically, she's in Tokyo, but yeah, she's here and she said Youma's Forest."
Great, thought Pluto. At least that explains my headache.
